I have lived it, I have been homeless

This cause means alot to me because I have lived it for just under 5 months, living out of my car, on streets, on the beach, and everywhere with my children by no fault of my own . I was scared, hurt, sad and felt so alone. I barely slept wondering where I would be sleeping “tomorrow “ On a few occasions, I even had “move on “ notices given to me when I had nowhere to go. I had applied for so many rentals - it was really hard because everyone was bidding on rentals ( highest bidder wins) before I was eventually offered a house in Melbourne which became my home and I ended up living there for 6 years not knowing a single person . Being homeless was the worst time of my life , but it also made me who I am today- caring more and helping those in need whenever I am able to. My heart breaks for those that are facing this same fate as I did. I also lost an Uncle nearly 2 years ago who sadly passed away on a park bench - he was also homeless and alone . Please, Please help if you can, every cent counts and it is all tax deductible, so you have nothing to lose but everything to gain

Right now, there are 122,000 Australians experiencing homelessness. That's 1 in 210 people.

This March, I will be taking part in Walk the Walk and going the distance for the 122,000 people doing it tough in our community.

I'm walking to raise funds for Orange Sky's vital work providing connection through clean laundry, warm showers, and genuine conversation.

Please support my walk to positively connect communities and support people who need it the most.
